How can I give away my pet lizard before I go to college?

back when i was 8 or 9 I got a lizard (bearded dragon to be exact) the pet store only said it would live 5-7 years but 10 years later its still here. My question is, how can i safely get rid of it without killing it by just giving it away, like who do i call, who will take it. I cant have him while im at school nor would i really want him because it was kindof one of those things that sounded like a great idea at the time but just wasnt. Any tips would be helpful thanks.
