Ipod mini keeps rebooting...WHY??!?

ok everytime i try to turn on my ipod it comes to the apple logo and then it stays for a little while and then it does a click sound and restarts again like a loop i watched some videos about i pod minis but nothing i tried putting it in disk mode and connecting it to the computer but itunes doesn't find my ipod nor does my computer. when i charge it the battery picture thing with the electricity picture comes up but it just move most ipod would charge to 1 slash to 2 to 3 to 4 and restart again but mine doesn't do this it only stays on the first slash or bar help!!! i want my ipod to work again
