Is abortion legal in indiana?

I'm not pregnant, nor trying, but i saw on the news the other day that Gov. McDaniels made it illegal, even when medically necessary to save the mothers life (ie. Ectopic pregnancies). I know this is all over funding, but can someone please give me a little more insight on why this is happening...
