Writing friends at USMC bootcamp?

When I was in Boot, I really only had time to write my family, but then again, I write slow anyways. If you have the time, great. Having enough time depends on how long your letters will be and how fast you write. I don't see how you wouldn't be able to send one or two letter to a friend, though.
